Robert Rahway Zakanitch

is an American painter and was one of the founders of the Pattern and Decoration movement situated in the United States from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. He most notably exhibited with Holly Solomon, Galerie Daniel Templon, and Robert Miller Gallery among others. To this day, Zakanitch still incorporates into his paintings “the sentimental visuals of [his] childhood,” as well as costume jewelry, toy dogs, floral patterns and tessellations found in the night's sky.
