Robert Rahway Zakanitch

is an American painter and was one of the founders of the Pattern and Decoration movement situated in the United States from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. To this day, Zakanitch still incorporates into his paintings “the sentimental visuals of [his] childhood,” as well as costume jewelry, toy dogs, floral patterns and tessellations found in the night's sky.
